Where to Buy Organic Groceries in Dubai: My Favourite Stores

Making the switch to organic groceries was not something I did overnight. It started gradually — first with produce, then dairy, then pantry staples — as I learned more about what conventional farming practices put into and onto our food. I am not militant about it. I do not believe every single item in your kitchen needs to be organic. But for the things I eat most frequently, and for the produce that tends to carry the highest pesticide loads, I think it is worth the investment. Dubai has made this surprisingly easy over the past few years, and the options available now are genuinely impressive.

Here are the stores and services I personally use and trust for organic groceries in Dubai, along with what I buy from each.

Kibsons — My Weekly Go-To

Kibsons has become such a staple in my life that I genuinely do not remember how I managed before them. Their online platform is easy to navigate, delivery is reliable, and their organic range has expanded enormously. I order my weekly produce from them — organic leafy greens, avocados, berries, tomatoes, and whatever seasonal fruits look good. Their organic eggs are excellent, and they carry a solid range of organic pantry items too. The quality is consistently high, and their customer service is responsive when the rare issue comes up. I place my order every Saturday evening for Sunday delivery, and it has become a pleasant weekend ritual.

Ripe Market

The Ripe Market is more than a grocery shop — it is an experience. Their weekend markets at various locations across Dubai bring together local organic farmers, artisanal food producers, and small businesses. I visit whenever my schedule allows, usually the one at the Dubai Police Academy Park. There is something special about buying produce directly from the people who grew it, and the quality of locally grown organic vegetables and herbs here is outstanding. Their permanent online store is also excellent for weekly deliveries. I particularly love their locally grown microgreens and herbs, which are fresher than anything you will find in a supermarket.

Organic Foods and Cafe

This was one of the original organic shops in Dubai and remains a favourite. They have branches across the city, and their range is comprehensive — from fresh produce and meats to supplements, beauty products, and specialty items. I go here for things I cannot easily find elsewhere: specific organic spices, speciality flours, raw cacao, and high-quality organic oils. Their staff are knowledgeable and can help you navigate the options. The prices are fair for organic quality, and they regularly have promotions that make stocking up more affordable.

The Farmhouse at Jones the Grocer

Jones the Grocer has evolved from a gourmet deli into a full organic grocery destination. Their Farmhouse concept stocks beautifully curated organic and natural products, with a focus on quality over quantity. I go here for organic cheeses, artisanal breads, cold-pressed juices, and their prepared food section, which is excellent for busy days when I want something healthy but cannot cook. The atmosphere is lovely — it feels like shopping in a European market. It is not the cheapest option, but the curation means you can trust that what you are buying has been vetted for quality.

Earth Bar & Grocer

Tucked away in Al Quoz, Earth Bar is a hidden gem that combines an organic grocery store with a plant-based cafe. Their range is curated towards health-conscious shoppers — organic produce, vegan products, superfoods, and supplements. I love coming here for their bulk section where you can buy organic nuts, seeds, grains, and dried fruits by weight, which reduces packaging waste and lets you buy exactly what you need. Their cold-pressed juices are some of the best in Dubai, made fresh with organic produce.

Carrefour Bio Range

I want to include this because not everyone has the time or budget for speciality stores, and that is perfectly fine. Carrefour has significantly expanded their organic range under the Bio label, and it is surprisingly good. Organic milk, yoghurt, eggs, pasta, rice, tinned tomatoes, and a growing selection of fresh produce are all available at most Carrefour locations across Dubai. The prices are considerably lower than speciality stores, and the quality is solid. When I am doing a big shop at Carrefour anyway, I always check the Bio section and swap in organic where I can. It is the most accessible way to start incorporating organic into your routine without changing where you shop.

Barakat Quality Plus

Barakat is known primarily for their juices, but their grocery delivery service deserves attention. They offer a range of organic fruits and vegetables alongside their conventional produce, and the freshness is exceptional — they are sourcing and delivering constantly. I order from them when I need something specific quickly or when I want their organic juice cleanses, which I do a few times a year. Their delivery across Dubai is fast and the produce arrives in excellent condition.

What I Always Buy Organic

If going fully organic is not feasible for your budget, I would prioritise the items where it makes the most difference. For me, that means leafy greens and berries, which tend to have the highest pesticide residues. Eggs and dairy, because organic standards mean better animal welfare and no hormones or routine antibiotics. And any produce I eat with the skin on — apples, peppers, tomatoes, cucumbers. For produce with thick skins that you peel — bananas, avocados, citrus — conventional is generally fine.

A Note on Local and Seasonal

One thing I have come to appreciate is that local and seasonal often matters as much as the organic label. Produce that is grown nearby and picked recently retains more nutrients and requires fewer preservatives for transport. The UAE's local farming scene has grown remarkably, and supporting these producers is good for the community, the environment, and your plate. Several of the stores I have mentioned work directly with local farms, and seeking out these connections is worth the small extra effort.

Dubai has come a long way in making healthy, organic, conscious eating accessible. Whether you are just starting to explore organic options or looking to expand your sources, I hope this guide points you in some useful directions. The most important step is simply starting — even if it is just swapping one or two items. Every small choice adds up, and your body will thank you for each one.
